The Church has adopted as its statement of faith the Baptist Faith and Message, as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention on June 14, 2000. The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired Word of God that speaks the truth without any mixture of error with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of the Church's faith, doctrine, ministry direction, and discipline as they are practiced at the Church, our Lead Pastor in consultation with the Church Council is the Church's final interpretive authority on the Bible's meaning and application.

Making disciples was the divinely assigned purpose of the first century church, and so it only makes sense that disciple making would be the driving force behind the mission of First Baptist Vancleave. At FBV, we are intentional about making certain that everything we do, whether that be a one-time activity or a weekly program, is designed around the single purpose of making disciples.
The vision of First Baptist Vancleave is to create a community of authentic believers and to witness a city transformed by the life changing reality of the Gospel, as people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
